Horseback Riding in the "Valle of Uspallata" and
High Mountain Range
The "Valle of Uspallata" is a small town, and an administrative district, in Argentina in a scenic location on the road which crosses the Andes between Mendoza and Santiago in Chile. It is located about 100 kilometers west of Mendoza and was once served by the now disused Transandine Railway which passed through the town on its way from Mendoza to Los Andes in Chile.
Trekking in Aconcagua Provincial Park and Puente del Inca:
The Aconcagua is the highest peak in the Andes, with 6,962 meters above sea level. This mountain is the principal reason for the existence of the Aconcagua Park, one of the most spectacular protected areas of Argentina.
It has 71,000 hectares and is entirely in Argentina, Province of Mendoza. It is not an international border.
Puente del Inca:
It is 175 km away from the city of Mendoza, on the international route n°7. "Puente del Inca" or
Inca's Bridge is a natural formation (a bridge) over Cuevas River.
There are thermal springs that flow at 35°, which have acquired worldwide prestige since the thermal baths have curative properties for skin infectious diseases.
The ruins of an ancient hotel remain near the bridge; it operated as a thermal resort last century. Nowadays it is possible to visit the ancient thermal baths and to enjoy bathing in those hot and comforting waters.
